Studying at ACCAD
ACCAD is a research center which offers classroom and project-based creative research experiences in the application of computer graphics and animation to OSU graduate students. Graduate students currently enrolled in graduate programs at OSU are the main cohort.
Our graduate level courses serve those who want to learn more about or extensively study 3D animation and interactive media. All graduate students enrolled at Ohio State are welcome to take ACCAD courses (listed under Adv Computing Cntr Arts&Design in the OSU Master Schedule). Those students seeking to incorporate 3D animation and interactive technology into their thesis or dissertation might enroll in a few courses. They might also work independently with ACCAD staff or a team of affiliated faculty advisors.
Most often ACCAD attracts graduate students (senior level undergraduates can also enroll) from disciplines such as: Design, Dance, Art, Architecture, Art Education, Electrical and/or Computer Science and Engineering. But any graduate student at Ohio State is welcome to enroll. In addition to taking ACCAD courses, students must meet the degree requirements of their academic program.
The Design Department and Art Department have Masters level programs that allow students to focus on digital animation or art and technology. Interested applicants must apply directly through the Department degree program they wish to pursue and the Graduate Admissions office at Ohio State University. We do not send application forms from here.
Students interested in the software development side of computer animation, should contact Dr. Huamin Wang in the OSU Computer Science and Engineering department. His e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org. Also see Dr. Wang's web site.
