Motion Studies Through Hand Drawn Animation

The course description for Motion Studies Through Hand Drawn Animation is as follows: The principles of animation as demonstrated through hand-drawn animation. The work produced serves as a tool for comprehending the underlying process of any animation technique.

This foundational ACCAD course was offered this summer and taught by Devin Ensz (Design MFA candidate). The course explored a variety of traditional animation methods and tools. Beginning with flip books and zoetrope, the students moved to paper animation and stop motion. Digital post production and capture tools were also explored, as well as mixed media animation techniques.
