Data

This area contains sample motion capture data to download plus useful scripts. The motion capture data is provided in three different formats. They are *.amc/*.asf, *.c3d, *.tvd, *.txt. All files are stored zipped. Sample movies are 320X260.

Open Motion Project

Several ACCAD students came together to create a set of motions that are useable for motion for video games, animation, etc. The intent is that these motions are absolutely free to use with no type of restrictions. The students wanted anyone to be able to get their hands on this type of data and use it however they wanted. The data is in both bvh skeletal format and c3d point data format as well.

Motion Capture File Formats

TVD 2D data from the Vicon Workstation or IQ.
   
C3D Reconstructed 3D data from the Vicon Workstation or iQ. Can be used in MotionBuilder, Maya or any 3D program to drive skeletal or other data.
   
BVH Skeletal motion files created by attaching the C3D data to a BVH format skeleton in MotionBuilder. The BVH file defines both the skeleton and the motion data all in one file.
   
ASF/AMC Same as BVH except it is a different skeletal format.
   
TXT Comma or space delimited files that are basically X,Y,Z translation data derived directly from the C3D data from the Vicon software.
   
BVH and ASF/AMC Export options in MotionBuilder. To use them in Maya, import them into MotionBuilder and then save them out as FBX file to load into Maya.
