Katie Whitlock (2001) is a second-year doctoral student in the Department of Theatre. Her interest in technology stems from her work in sound design for theatre as well as her research interests. Katie's work in theatre has included numerous sound designs, several directing credits and even a performance or two. She has a BFA in Stage and Arts Management from the University of Arizona and a MFA in Theatre Design from the University of Memphis. Her work with ACCAD has been centered around the creation of a virtual model of the Roy Bown Theatre that will be used as a teaching tool for introductory and advanced students. She is excited to be a mentor for the women and technology program this summer and plans to learn as much as she teaches!
