Samantha Steele (2001), the Graduate Research Associate for this project, is a first-year graduate student in the Department of Industrial, Interior and Visual Communication Design. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design. Her experience includes working for Procter & Gamble Co., where she was involved with the development of various brands such as Sunny Delight, Safeguard, Dawn, and Oil of Olay. She also contracted at Design Axis. Inc. and Priority Designs, Inc. where she worked as an Industrial Designer and was involved in brainstorming sessions, sketching. and detailed model making. She is currently attending The Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design and will graduate with a Master of Fine Arts Degree with which she hopes to work in animation production. Steele has other interests as well, one of which is to eventually teach. The summerDesign + Technology program is giving Steele this opportunity and will also provide new avenues for young women.
