The Final Outcome

The objective for this course is to collaboratively produce a complete animated work. In the past, the topic has often been some external client-based project. This year we want to conceive the project as part of our group process. It will be exciting to see what ideas the group will come up with!

In order to get a good start, please spend some time prior to the first class thinking about ideas to present to the group. It does not have to be completely resolved. (In fact, it would be nice if the idea is something flexible that we could all have input and build upon as a group.) Be prepared to discuss your ideas in class and to provide feedback and options for the ideas presented by others.

Possibilities are wide open, some might be:
Unusual stories from the newspapers
A narrative or character study
A poem or other literary influence
Algorithmic or generative approaches
Historical, architectural or scientific visualization

Let's consider our goal as completing an animation that we can submit to festivals (SIGGRAPH being one, as well as other high profile fests like Anima Mundi or Ottowa). An award-winning work to represent both ACCAD and to strengthen your personal portfolios!
