In the first few class meetings, we will need to lay out our timeline schedule. Once our general topic is formed, we will move through this sequence as it may apply to the project:

  • Story Idea (the "pitch")
  • Text Treatments - summary documents of main idea - several treatments can be tested
  • Storyboards
  • Voice recording if applicable
  • Animatic - Editorial, Timing
  • Art development - look and feel, color scripts
  • Modeling and rigging
  • Set Dressing and props
  • Blocking shots - camera and animation
  • Animation
  • Shading
  • Lighting
  • Rendering
  • Final touches

A web-based production schedule and documentation will be maintained for the project. All documents (except perhaps for the individual web logs) will be on the class workspace. A common system will be used to share editing access with all members of the production. One "webmaster" will be appointed for organizational purpose.

  • Production Calendar
  • File Standards
  • Production Resources
  • Task Lists
  • Individual web logs of personal progress, ideas, and observations
