An interactive application has been created for rapid testing and measurement of the slab positions.
Results of tests with this application are returned to the software rendered simulations for further comparisons.

upper left: Text display of current ephemeris data file. Use "<" and ">" to step through sequence.

upper right: Preset buttons for position of light source, user entry of alt/az values, user selection of ephemeris data file.

lower right: resizeable inset of orthagonal view of spiral

center: Two markers with lines running to light source. Markers can be positioned by user.

lower left: Text display of distance between marker positions.
User can select object ("group slabs", "east slab", etc) and use cursor keys to move the position of selection with distance measurement display. Rotations can be made around a user-editable pivot point.

Tests to check if the shadow renderings match results from the sofware rendered model.
