This piece was inspired from a found b&w postcard visible in the previous rollover. The animation is ostensibly about my grandfather and his experiences in the U.S. Army in the early 20th century. However, this work is also abstracted to some degree, exploring ideas of death, time and the possibility of life after death.

The main character is closely based on a photo of my grandfather from 1917.

This work is intended to provoke thought, and attempts to use a quietness and solitude to foster an emotional response from the viewer.
