Early Proposal__________________________________________________________________________

I propose to develop a building interface for kids to generally experiment with
architecture. The interface would include a building area and a set of pre-established
parts (some of which may be animated in and of themselves). Both the parts and the
building area would be oriented to an elevational format. The set of parts would be
manifested either as simply a pool of usable pieces or a menu from which pieces can
be repeatedly instantiated into the building area.

Subsequent to the building, a “disaster” button will be present to clear the
building area. A variety of animations will result from its activation. Generally
these will include, an earthquake, tornado, flood, and WWII bombing.

Proposal Modifications___________________________________________________________________

While the basic setup of the interface and opeartions will remain roughly as described, the
product and intent of its use have change slightly. In lieu of the childrens building
interface the final product will instead be outfitted as a quick and easy diagramming tool.
The intent of which could easily be modified according to the demands and necssary pool of
parts required of a given field.

Schedule_________________________________________________________________________________

Tuesday, December 2:

Snap to Grid
Drag and Drop (in and out of drawing area)

Thursday, December 4:

Combine the Above
Simple Menu (ie instantiate new instance when in drawing area
and always return original instance back to initial position)

Tuesday, December 9:

Clear Button
Orientation and Adjustable Sizing
Populate kit of parts

Progress elements that follow should parallel the schedule________________________________

01 Drag and Drop

02 Simple Snap

03 Combine thus far

04 Simple Menu

05 Add Reset Button

06 Simple Orientation

07 Orientation Intergrated

08 Add Adjustable Size
