| PROJECT DESCRIPTION | ||||||||||||||||||||
| This project is to test Chinese language learners' ability of comprehending and writing Chinese characters. There are three levels of test: listening, reading and writing. Only after the learners pass the lower level, they can move on to the next level. Twelve Chinese characters will be used. They are the Chinese Zodiac: mouse, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, money, cock, dog, and pig. | ||||||||||||||||||||
Level 1: Listening Practice ¨C Match the Chinese Characters with their pronunciations |

| In this level, the users will be given the twelve characters and four choices of different pronunciations for each one. The users are supposed to choose the correct pronunciation among the four for each one. They will do one at a time. Only after the learners select the correct pronunciations for all the ten characters, they can move on to the level 2. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Level 2: Reading Practice ¨C Match the Chinese Characters with their meanings | ||||||||||||||||||||
| In this level, the learners will be given twelve pictures for the twelve animals in the Chinese Zodiac. Four pictures and four characters will appear each time. The learners are supposed to drag and drop the corresponding characters to match the picture of certain animal. Only when they match them up correctly, the animals will become animated. They have to match up all the twelve pictures with the twelve characters to pass this level. |

Level 3: Writing Practice ¨C Use mouse to write the characters |

| In this level, the twelve characters are hollowed out. The learners will use the mouse to write the characters by filling in colors. They have to do the characters stroke by stroke and in the correct stroke orders and directions. | ||||||||||||||||||||
