final project

goal

the final project is intended as an opportunity for you to explore previously covered topics in more depth, and/or experiment with more advanced techniques. The magnitude of the project should be appropriate for the extra time allotted. Collaboration in small teams (2 people) is welcome if students have a common goal and can outline enough work for two.

concept

prepare a brief paragraph or two describing how the end result will look, what its purpose will be, and how the user will interact with it. This shouldn't be anything formal, just some focused intentions to discuss.

proposal

assemble a web page describing in detail the object(s) and/or environment(s) you will construct for your final project. Link it from your final.html page (see Submission below). Your proposal should contain the following sections:

examples

  • western town  Bradd Birmingham
  • Dragon! Run!  Sin-him Kwok
  • Super Marble Run Game  Justin Grossman
  • Snow with Wind Speed/Direction/Density/Deposition and Tornado Effects!  Arunachalam Somasundaram
  • Simon III  Peter Gerstmann

    submission

create a web page called final.html that shows your final project. Copy final.html and all associated files to a folder named final in your class directory in your home area. Pay attention to capitalization in file and directory names. Test the link from the student work web page and make sure there are no problems. Make sure your vrml file will work correctly on the machine we will be using in class.

lastly, burn all of your coursework (01-06 and final) for this class onto cd, label it with your name and vnv 2005, and turn it in with your final presentation.
