Jail Cell

Plane period jail cell. A single cot, sink and toilet. No paraphernalia or other signs that this cell has been occupied for an extended period. Solid door with small viewport. A small single window set high provides the only light to the room.

Pillar's Office

1930s period office. Desk, chair, phone, file cabinet. Stacks of files litter the surfaces.

Environment -

Interrogation Room

Cramped and claustrophobic. High key. No natural light, only artificial. Environment is designed to give both the viewer and the suspect a feeling of being trapped.

Jail Cell

Again, the cell is designed with claustrophobia in mind. The cell reflects Van Meegeren's mood, lost within himself and unable to escape from the trap he created. Lighting starts off low key and dark, but grows progressively brighter as the painting progresses and his prospects brighten and he sees that the art world must resolve their attitude towards him and his paintings.

Pillar's Office

Pillar's office is designed to reflect his character, functional and businesslike. Lighting is low key and bright, reflecting Van Meegeren's moment of victory against the art world.
