Ernie: A Photographer's Memoir

This might be my favorite picture in the book. It shows Ernie looking like Cat Dracula. This is how the picture was taken. First of all, the picture is presented upside down, so in your mind flip it 180 degrees. Ernie is sliding down the curbed part of the old bathtub we had in the loft. My left hand is under his front legs and I'm gently sliding him down the tub. On my right hand I have the camera and flash and I'm taking pictures. Ernie is pissed. Gravity is also doing a funny number on his mouth. When the picture is presented upside down, like here, and in the cover, it looks strange. When I first tried to get a publisher for the book, it was rejected around 50 times. Most editors said that Ernie wasn't cute enough.
