Assignment 1 - Animation Language Basics

Due: An hour before class, Tues 1/14.
Use ox and ogre to construct an object or environment and render it from several views. Use a combination of quadric gprims and polygonal or patch based objects.

Make good use of shaders and light sources. Demonstrate that you can use separators to localize the effects of shaders. Use transform gops for both local and global transformations.

Create several images which fully and clearly convey the features of the object or environment you've created. When composing your pictures, remember that this is more of a sculpting assignment than an image creation assignment.

To submit your homework, name the files using the format: "hw1-username-1.jpg" i.e. "hw", followed by the homework assignment number, followed by a hyphen, your user name, another hyphen, the picture number, a period, and finally, the file format. Place the files in the HW1 directory in ~mlewis/Class/Homework. Make certain that your file permissions are set correctly.

All images should be submitted in jpg format and rendered at a suitable resolution (no smaller than 200 pixels or larger than 800 pixels, in either dimension). You should also submit the AL file that generated your images (e.g. hw1-mlewis.al).
