Wobbe Koning
(2000, Art, Art and Technology)
Wobbe says, "Our company Pixelberg just did send a newsletter, but
I'm afraid it's in Dutch! It mainly stated that we have been making animations
for DVD, television and 2K film leaders. The info can be found on our
website, which is in English: www.pixelberg.nl.
Next to that: teaching at Filmschool is going well. I teach compositing
to editing and "New Media" students. That is, they just changed
the name of that last department to the more catchy "Interactive
Multimedia / Visual Effects". There I got a little more hours now,
still not enough for all the work that has to be done though! No family
changes or other shocking news... Hope to come to Siggraph this year though."

Marla Mayerson
(1997, Art, Art and Technology)
Is currently working
at Youngstown State University as an Assistant Professor in the Art and
Technology program with Andrew Bac (just received his PhD in Art Ed at
OSU). Marla says, "The school is on semesters so it seems that classes
are taking forever. This semester I'm teaching courses in digital imaging
and web publication design. I'll be adding digital compositing to that
lineup next semester. My classes are stacked so I can still spend some
weekends in Columbus. I'm quite impressed by the facilities here and walked
into recently updated computer labs with new Macs. The students are mainly
commuters but there is some good talent here. After doing the corporate
thing I'm glad to be back in academic life. I hadn't realized how much
I missed the developing minds and teacher/student interaction. This is
a small art faculty and I'm on lots of committees. The town itself isn't
much to talk about but is within range of the Cleveland NPR station which
plays lots of good jazz music. ~ Marla (e-mail: mayerson@ysu.edu)

Stephen and Kristina Spencer and their children,
Nathan (almost five) and Sophie (almost three), are thriving way out in
the Pacific Northwest. They moved back to Seattle from Bainbridge Island
in May of 2002, preferring city life and much shorter commutes.
Stephen's job as
manager of the computer graphics lab at the University of Washington's
Computer Science and Engineering department keeps him busy and satisfied,
as does his ongoing role as Director for Publications for ACM SIGGRAPH.
