Design MFA Candidate Simone Downey Has Digital Tabletop Game Accepted in IFIP Game Competition
Design MFA candidate Simone Downey has had her digital tabletop game, Murder on Mansion Hill, accepted in the game competition at IFIP International Conference on Entertainment Computing. Simone will also present her paper at this year's conference which is being held in Portugal at the beginning of November.
The game is designed to address motivational aspects of aliteracy, a focus of Simone's MFA research, by leveraging co-design and collage techniques to encourage social storytelling. The goal of the conference is to highlight innovative research and approaches in the fields of game design, digital and virtual art, entertainment hardware, serious games and game-based learning, and other related disciplines.
