ACCAD was pleased to welcome Ohio State’s new Executive Vice President and Provost, Ravi V. Bellamkonda to our labs in Sullivant Hall. Accompanied by the College of Arts and Sciences Dean Horn, Provost Bellamkonda met with ACCAD’s new Director Chris Coleman, for a brief tour and discussion. They talked about the rich history of ACCAD’s collaborations across the University, leveraging the arts and design to explore the ways technology can help us understand ourselves. After a brief recounting of some historical projects, Researcher Jeremy Patterson and ACCAD GRAs, Sebastian King and Emma Burns demonstrated current research projects involving spatial reconstructions, Virtual Reality training, and new methods for 3D scanning. The tour continued through ACCAD's classrooms, Sonic Lab, and finally the Motion Lab, with its advanced motion capture and audio capabilities. ACCAD is excited to be a part of the Provost’s vision of an interconnected and technologically literate education for OSU students and we look forward to having him visit again soon!
