Mirkamil received his BA in Mathematics and Computer Science from the College of Wooster in 2019. In his independent studies, he studied different ray tracing algorithms and implemented a ray tracer.

For his PhD, he is exploring the theme of procedural content generation for games. His research focuses on enemy balancing, virtual environment generation through procedural generation algorithms. He is also incorporating machine learning techniques to facilitate his research.
