Visiting Animator Jae-Huun Ahn (Sept 17-29)

Jae-Huun Ahn, Korean Animator Guest Artist

ACCAD is delighted, along with The Wexner Center for the Arts, OSU departments of Design, Art, TFMA, and DEALL, to welcome and present the beautiful works of renowned animator Jae-Huun Ahn.  This multi-day animation retrospective will run from September 17-29, 2024 and is free for all audiences (with a ticket)

Jae-Huun Ahn, has an impressive background. He worked on popular American shows such as The Simpsons and Family Guy, and eventually started his own animation studio. Ahn's career has been dedicated to creating hand-drawn, 2D animations that celebrate Korean life, culture, and traditions. His studio, Meditation with a Pencil, operates under the philosophy of producing “drawings that cure and colors that touch one’s heart.”

The Wexner Center is proud to offer audiences a unique opportunity to experience Ahn's beautiful and evocative work. A highlight of the week will be Ahn’s in-person artist talk with Kyoung Lee Swearingen (Design/ACCAD Faculty member) on September 26th at 5:00 pm. The event is free, but you need to secure a ticket via the event link provided. Ahn will engage in a conversation about his work followed by a screening of his film Green Days (2011) at 7 PM. These events are part of the annual Cartoon Crossroads Columbus festival.

Multiple screenings of Ahn's animations have been scheduled, providing a rare opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to immerse themselves in Ahn’s winsome creations. Don’t miss this chance to discover the artistry and storytelling of one of Korea’s most talented animators.  Be sure to secure a ticket before attending.
